ABOUT Dr. Gurry
Dr. Susan Gurry is an educational, behavioral and play-based consultant in autism and related developmental disorders in the New England/Boston area. She is a certified special educator, an administrator in special education, is ABA certified as a BCBA-D, and is certified as an Expert in DIR/Floortime certification.
She received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Syracuse Univerity, specializing in Autism as part of her Master's Degree. She received her Doctorate in Special Education and Administration in 1982 from Boston University. She taught students with severe disabilities in the Cambridge Public Schools, then left to teach for 25 years as the Director of the Severe Special Needs Program at Lesley University. After leaving Lesley in 2009, she pursued additional education in ABA & Floortime. Dr. Gurry founded Gurry Autism Consulting in 2010, and she prefers to work with one or two families at a time. She presumes competence of the individual child and believes in tailoring the intervention to best meet the needs of that child.
Insurance Information:
Dr. Gurry is an individual provider of services and can apply to be an insurance-based provider based on a family’s insurance.
